# Pokémon ## Thoughts Back in the day, Pokémon was my absolute favorite TV show to watch. Not only that, but I was into the trading cards and various video games, as well. All of the cards were kept safely in a binder with plastic sleeves to keep them all organized — I still have it, by the way. I don't use them anymore, but they're fun to look at every few years. Where I lived, the show would be on at 3:30 PM on most days, so if I got out of school on time and was able to get straight home, I would be able to watch it right when I got there. I mostly remember the first season — [Pokémon - Indigo League](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon:_Indigo_League) — but I watched it pretty consistently for a long time. Ash was my favorite character and Pikachu was my favorite Pokémon — about as vanilla as it gets, but that's the way it be sometimes. Similarly, I was into various Pokémon games like [[Pokémon Play It!]] and [[Pokémon Stadium]], among several others. Surprisingly even to to me, I didn't ever really get into the mainline Pokémon games like *Pokémon Red*, etc. For some reason, I just never got those games as a gift or sought them out. In more recent times, I've tried to get into them to see what I missed, but after trying *Pokémon Moon*, I didn't really feel the need to dig to deeply into the series. That said, I'm still curious about some of the newer entries — *Pokémon Legends: Arceus*, for example — that supposedly reduce the drag of the beginning sections of the game. I just don't have the time or patience for games that don't let you get on with the actual gameplay by pacing the introductory sections so slowly.
