# Wii ## Thoughts I wonder if anything will ever top this level of hype and excitement for me — there was so much interest in this console both before and after launch. Talk about a comeback after the [[GameCube]], even though the 'Cube was a favorite of mine! The Wii had a lot of great titles, but it was also a victim of tons of shovel-ware. [[Wii Sports]] as a pack-in title was genius — *everyone* was playing bowling and tennis regularly at family gatherings! No one is interested in motion controls anymore (with the exception of how AR/VR does it maybe), but at the time it was a really big deal! ## Some of my Favorite Games 1. [[Super Mario Galaxy 2]] ## WiiLink As of [[2026 - August 23 - Sunday]], I got [[WiiLink]] set up on the Wii, which makes all of the original [[Nintendo]] apps work again! It's super cool (and nostalgic) to see the channels come back to life on the Wii menu.
