# Foundation
## Thoughts
>[!warning]
>*Spoilers ahead!*
While I thought this was an interesting sci-fi story, I also thought the core plot device, "psychohistory," kind of took away any suspense of any kind. I get that the titular *Foundation* was intended to kickstart the next empire after a forecasted age of barbarism, but any crises that the characters encounter were either resolved outright, or you already knew that whoever was in charge had some plan in their back pocket to deus ex machina their way out of it. I started reading [[Foundation and Empire]], but that's about where I lost interest.
