# Man on Fire ## Thoughts > [!warning] > *Spoiler warning!* I enjoyed this book overall. While it didn't do anything super original, I was reasonably interested the whole time. I also felt like it didn't overstay its welcome and drag things on too much, which is good. Having watched the movie adaptation many years ago, the differences in the plot caught me off guard in this book! ## Progress [[2026 - May 20 - Wednesday]]: This book's done! --- [[2026 - May 11 - Monday]]: I just got to **Book 3** during lunch today — the action is starting now. 😬 --- [[2026 - April 29 - Wednesday]]: I'm about ~32% of the way through the book, and the kidnapping just took place. It's been a good read thus far, and I'm interested to see where it goes next. The relationship between Creasy and Rika became a bit of a šŸ™„ after he saved her from the gunfire, but I guess that's just one of those tropes in the action genre. I'm calling it now, though, that Vico is definitely involved in the kidnapping somehow.
