# Army of Darkness ## Thoughts *Army of Darkness* is an exceptional B-movie and has peak [[Bruce Campbell]]. I think the fact that this movie is directly related to the much more serious [[Evil Dead]] movies makes it even better. There are some scenes in this film that are easily in my all-time favorites/iconic list: - Ash jumping up and "catching" his chainsaw while in the pit, and right after using his belt as a whip to ride the chains up - The ending scene where he's blasting the lever-action rifle >*My name is Ash, and I am a slave.* >*Hail to the king, baby.* >*Yo, she-bitch! Let's go.* >*What, were you raised in a barn? Shut the door!* >*It got into my hand and it went bad, so I lopped it off at the wrist. But that didn't stop it. It came back — big time.* >*Lady, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave the store.* >*Alright — who wants some?* >*Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now: Jack and shit, and Jack left town.* ## Film Versions Generally, I much prefer the **theatrical edition** of *Army of Darkness*, but there are quite a few differences between it and the other versions, especially the **Director's Cut**. If not for the ending of the latter, I would like it a lot more. There are certain things that are noticeably absent from all versions from each other. I've been tempted more than once to try editing a new supercut of the movie of my own that combines my favorite aspects of both! I think when I played it, I had it on my first [[iPad]].
