# Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs ## Thoughts While this is a fun animated film, I would say it's sort of a middle-of-the-road movie in terms of quality as it has fun characters and animation — especially of the food itself — but is also very loud and, at times, obnoxious. The writing reminds of some of [[Illumination]]'s movies where the script seems to try just a *little bit* too hard to be funny. That all said, I really like the beginning of the movie when Flint Lockwood is just a little kid. I seem to remember both this title and the sequel, [[Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2]], being better, but I haven't watched the latter for a while either!
