This entry in the series wasn't as good as either of the prior entries, in my opinion, but it was still entertaining. [[Neha Koduru|Neha]] mentioned that she felt there wasn't as much of a story to it, and I tend to agree. The characters were generally solid, if a bit underdeveloped, but I thought the writing was a little weak and the movie overall leaned a little too heavily into Elise. Her conflict with the woman in black spirit was a little forced — it was also a little hokey at times and didn't really have the same weight as in the first couple of movies. I wondered why she seemed to be able to easily go toe-to-toe with the spirit in this one, but had no chance at all against her in the first movie.
