# Obsession ## Thoughts >[!warning] >*Spoilers ahead!* Oh boy, this is definitely one of those movies that was way more stressful than I expected, and I was expecting it to be pretty tense. [[Inde Navarrette]] did an exceptional job as Nikki, and [[Michael Johnston]] was great as Bear as well. The acting and cinematography really stand out to me as some of the best I've seen in a while, especially for a horror film with a limited budget. $750k is the quoted budget for the movie, which is pretty nuts. I'm not sure if I'll feel the need to watch this movie again, truth be told. Some films leave a very strong impression the first time around, almost as an experience in and of itself, versus just being entertainment. The incredibly dark implications of Bear's wish on Nikki — you end up feeling really bad for her character — and the lore of the One Wish Willow are pretty fascinating to think about. Additionally, this movie has some imagery that is pretty haunting, so credit to the creators and actors for that. It isn't often that I see a movie with scenes that stick with me for an extended period of time. The last one that I remember seeing was [[Annihilation]], mainly due to the nightmare bear. Is it a coincidence that both movies have a "bear" in them? Probably. One other thought I had after watching this movie was that it was interesting that [[Weapons]] also had a plant as a central plot device. I was curious if they both used a willow tree, but it seems *Weapons* was a prop amalgamation of a bonsai and holly tree.
