# Richie Rich ## Thoughts This movie doesn't really try too hard, and I think it really works for it. I wouldn't say there's anything truly amazing here — I'm sure there's some nostalgia for my part — but it's a fun film, nonetheless! It's interesting how the Rich family in the movie not only has a mansion, large estate, a "Mount Richmore", and so on, they also have a privately-run laboratory creating novel, albeit eccentric, inventions. This ends up being important to a number of plot arcs in the movie. That's the kind of thing that only happens in '90s movies, I feel. As a kid, I remember daydreaming about having a personal [[McDonald's]] in my house or launching myself around using a "kid-a-pult". Alas, I'm still working towards those goals. We did, however, have a four-wheeler, which was a blast! Funnily enough, that same ATV still works today — it's over 30 years old at this point, I think. Well done, [[Yamaha]]! ## Watch History My partner and I watched this last night ([[2026 - June 17 - Wednesday]]), but before that I last watched this in May of 2023! Prior to that, I can only guess that I would have last watched it when I was little! We had a copy of the movie on [[VHS]] — it was one of those plastic bifold cases that kids' movies tended to come in.
