# The Shining ## Thoughts *The Shining* deviates from the source material of the book ([[Starcat Games/Wiki/Literature/Books/The Shining|The Shining]]) quite a bit, but is great in part as an adaptation, but especially as a an interpretation on its own. The tense atmosphere is really intriguing throughout the film. I especially like the first half of the movie — everything is so tense even when nothing particularly crazy is happening on-screen. > "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." ### Watch History - [[2025 - June 6 - Friday]]
