# Unbreakable
## Thoughts
*Unbreakable* is one of my all-time favorite movies! For one reason or another, the grounded nature of it while simultaneously being about superheroes is really appealing to me.
[[Bruce Willis]] is a pretty low-key character, but I think it suits the film for him to be a sort of everyman.
[[Samuel L. Jackson]] as Mr. Glass is great as well, and I really enjoy his reveal as the "supervillain" behind the mass-casualty events over the last several years. His motivation is an interesting aspect of his character. His disease, which causes his frail bones, inspires him to find someone on the other end of the scale, who hypothetically would be stronger or "beyond" a normal person.
> *Now that we know who you are... I know who I am. I'm not a mistake! It all makes sense! In a comic, y'know how you can tell who the arch-villain's going to be? He's the exact opposite of the hero. And most times they're friends like you and me. I should've known way back when, y'know why David? Because of the kids! They called me Mr. Glass.*
I also wrote a bit about this movie (and others by the same filmmaker) here: [[M. Night Shyamalan]].
