# Willow ## Thoughts My partner and I really enjoyed watching this one! I hadn't seen it in forever, but it holds up super well! The characters, worldbuilding, and music are excellent. One small thing that I really like is that there are quite a few questions left unanswered, such as Madmartigan's past and more of the motivations of the queen. You're left wondering and thinking about the possibilities, which I think more media should do — *leave things to the imagination*! There were some things I noticed watching it this time that were fun, and that I never noticed before: - They all end up back at Tir Asleen, with Elora under the care of Madmartigan and Sorsha, making what Cherlindrea told Willow true in a roundabout sort of way. - Madmartigan, while still in the crow's cage, tells Airk to free him and he'll win the war for him, which Airk refuses. Later, when Airk is mortally wounded by Kael during the assault on the evil queen's fortress, he asks Madmartigan to win the war for him. I thought that was a nice callback to the earlier dialogue between them. There is apparently [a book series](https://www.goodreads.com/series/50213-chronicles-of-the-shadow-war) that takes place after the movie, and is considered a separate canon from the much later TV series. I might have to check that out!
