# Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory ## Thoughts This is definitely one of those classic feel-good movies. I remember watching this one as a kid many times on [[VHS]], and more recently my partner and I saw it on the big screen for the *55th Anniversary*! It's pretty wild to think this movie came out in the early '70s! We both really liked the music, which I hadn't heard for a long time, having not seen it for many years. All that said, the cast is great for this adaptation of [[Starcat Games/Wiki/Literature/Books/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory|Charlie and the Chocolate Factory]]. [[Gene Wilder]] in particular is excellent as Wonka, [[Peter Ostrum]] is a great Charlie, and [[Jack Albertson]] plays a really fun Grandpa Joe. Albertson has a great singing voice as well! It's quite a bit different from the original story in some places, but the important stuff is there.
