# Insidious Movie Guide ## Overview This note is mostly for my benefit to help keep track of what happened in which movie, especially since these movies cross over with [[Annabelle]] films as well. ## Film Notes [[Insidious]] > *Dalton is able project his spirit into the astral plane, opening the door for spooky things to happen through his physical body.* [[Insidious - Chapter 2]] > *The spooky things that Dalton and his family have to deal with continue as his dad, Josh, isn't what he seems. This movie ties back into the first one as well, showing that some of the things they experienced in the first film weren't what you might have expected.* [[Insidious - Chapter 3]] > *Takes place in the city within an apartment building. The main character, after getting hit by a car which breaks her legs, has to deal with spooky things with Elise's help while also trying to deal with a strained relationship with her dad.* [[Insidious - The Last Key]] > *This film explores Elise's past and shows them dealing with an evil spirit called Keyface. The end of this movie ties back into the first one.* [[Insidious - The Red Door]] > *Dalton is now grown up and going to college. His dad has a lot of difficulties adjusting to having his "traveling" abilities removed in the past, which caused mental health side effects. His marriage ended prior to this movie because of it, and his relationship with his son is strained. They reconnect as Dalton and his dad have to deal with demonic powers and the Further again together.* [[Insidious - Out of the Further]] > *This movie features new main characters, although Elise makes an appearance again, albeit with limited screen time. The lead has to deal with a troubled past with her own mother while managing her job and time with her daughter. She learns that she is a "courier," a step beyond a simple "traveler," and a long-deceased cult leader that resides in the Further is trying to use her and her daughter to ferry spirits to the living world.* #movies
