# Goozex
While it had a disappointing end, Goozex was a slick game trading site where you would trade in games for points and then use said points to "buy" other games that you were interested in. You could also purchase "tokens" with cash, which could then be used for trades, although I don't recall the details of how that worked.
You would set up two lists on your account, one for games you were interested in, and one for games that you had available that people could request. It was sort of a Netflix-style system — in their DVD days, at least — but fed by the people using it rather than a single company.
One important aspect of it was that games that were more highly sought after would increase in point value. The opposite was also true for less popular ones. It was really easy to use and actually a lot of fun since you could try many different games that you otherwise wouldn't have bothered with.
Here's an email snippet from back in 2012 of a game that I had requested, [[Gears of War]], had a trade lined up to send it to me:
