# Earthbound
## Thoughts
*EarthBound* has a special place in my memory because of how far back it goes and how much fun I had playing it over the years.
This game has one of those intense nostalgic memory associations that actually makes me feel a little bit like I'm ~10 years old again playing it for the first time whenever I pick it up again. If I clear my mind and take in the unique music/atmosphere, it takes me right back to those days — [[Chrono Trigger]] is similar in this respect!
The first time I ever tried playing this game, I was too young to really be able to make sense of what you're supposed to be doing. As time went on, I got better at reading and understanding more complex game mechanics, and would finally start making progress.
I have a specific memory of a part of the game where you have to fight a Starman Deluxe at the end of the [[Stonehenge]] Base. I was having so much trouble with this fight that I looked up suggestions online, finding one suggestion to use the "Autofight" feature instead of doing it myself. I literally pressed the Autofight button and left the room, hoping that it would work. Sure enough, after coming back a few minutes later, the fight was won!
