# About Obsidian Obsidian is a [[Markdown]] editor, plain and simple — well, except when it's not. You can extend it in a multitude of ways, perhaps even to a fault, depending on how in the weeds you tend to get with customizing your tools. I feel like it's easy to get stuck in the **planning** of how you want to get something done instead of just **getting the thing done**.
