Mass Effect - Andromeda
Thoughts
What a disappointment this game was. Talk about a fall from grace!
I feel that the setting is by far the strongest part of the game. The missing/stranded arks for each of the respective races are an intriguing plot device. However, despite the story being intriguing, literally everything else about Andromeda is worse than its predecessors:
- The crew/characters are just less interesting versions of ones from Mass Effect 1-3. It’s hard to come up a comparison between any of the crew members that favors Andromeda.1
- The gameplay planet-side is largely a waste of the player’s time — they took the weakest part of Mass Effect and doubled down on it.
- It seemed like the Profiles that you can invest into would be a bigger deal based on the prologue mission, but I found them to be completely unneeded during the rest of the game.
Progress
Main Story: Incomplete
Despite my best efforts (i.e. two attempts over the years), I just can’t bring myself to finish this game.
